Hi,

You can turn this off in the VoiceOver Utility.  Press VO-f8 to open the VO 
Utility, cmd-2 open the Speech pane, VO-space on the "Hints" tab then change 
the setting for what VO does when it encounters an item with a Help tag.  If it 
is set to "Do Nothing", this will not be announced.  You will then just need to 
press VO-shift-h to determine the Help tag for any given object that possesses 
a Help tag.
