Have you tried PhoneView? I didn't play with it a lot but it seemed
mostly accessible and sounds like it should do what you want:

I used dTunes quite a while ago. If memory serves, it was doable, but a bit of
a pain. Either way, I was successful transferring some songs from an old
iTouch onto my Mac.
It is free, isn't it?

Hi Chris.
You must have been in a hurry and didn't read my entire message.
DeTunes allows you to copy music from the iPhone and saves it to the Mac.
I was asking if any of you have tried it.
if your Mac crashed or was stolen, you could replace all your music to
your new Mac from your iPhone or iPod.
Thanks,
Rob

Hi,
Have any of you used a mac app called detunes?
it can copy your music from iPod iPhone or iPad to the Mac.
Or do you know of another accessible app for the Mac to do this?
Thanks,
Rob
