Hello Stacey, Once you've found the splitter, turn the trackpad commander off if it's active, then bring the mouse with VO-Cmd-F5. Press down on the trackpad with one finger and use another finger to stroke the trackpad from top to bottom. This should drag the splitter to the bottom of the screen.
It can take several attempts before this trick works as it's all too easy to move the mouse slightly before starting to drag it.
