Hi,
I partitioned my MBA's drive in order to make a partition for betas and testing purposes. Half way through, I decided to simply use an external solidstate drive instead, because partitioning an already small SSD (256 GB) will just hurt my productivity on the main side of things. I removed the 50 GB partition I'd made, then jumped the Macintosh HD partition back up to 250.14 GB (which is how big the drive is). Oddly enough, before I did partition, the Macintosh HD was showing up as 250.66, not 250.14, so I'm not entirely sure where the other .52 went. It did this fine, and I rebooted to ensure my changes had a clean slate to work on. Here's the weird part though. Before entering this whole partitioning thing, I had about 57 GB used out of 256 GB. Now, pressing command+I on the Macintosh HD shows that I have 250.14 GB total, and 175 GB is used. Checking it a few moments later, it's now at 179 GB used, with only 70 gb free. It's slowly increasing! What is going on? Something is sucking up my disk space and I can't figure it out. I've checked activity monitor and any other things I've downloaded, so I highly doubt it's anything maliscious. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
