All: I went to system preferences and to the table with the apps in the notification center. Since it is the email program causing the most problems I unchecked it. We will see if that solves the problem. I had previously tried to do this using do not disturb for 24 hours, 10:00 PM to 10:00 PM. I am curious why it would have to be for 23 hours and 59 minutes instead of for 24 hours? Thanks everyone for helping with this. Jean
