It is so refreshing to find a full-featured app that is fully accessible to voice over users and Amazing Slow Downer is just that. ASD is an app that lets you isolate sections of a song and slow it down through a range of speeds without changing pitch. It also allows for changing pitch by semitones up or down for a full octave and you can alter the left/right mix in case the instrument to be isolated is in a separate channel. The IOS version is so much easier to use than the Mac version (in my opinion). Within 20 minutes I was able to set multiple loop sections for a song and use all the app features - its that intuitive. I really do like this app - it gives me access to every song in my iTunes library and lets me tear down and transcribe the lead and rhythm breaks with ease. Its Kind of pricy at $14.99 in the app store, but for me, a banjo picker with an insatiable desire to learn those hot licks, its well worth the money. BTW: there's a free lite version that is identical in features and accessibility to the full version, but you only get access to the first quarter of a song. so if a song is 2 minutes long, the app cuts out after 30 seconds. If you like to slow down records for learning, try the lite version and you'll be "amazed".
