Kindle books are fully accessible on iOS, so that should not be a problem. That 
said, textbooks may be different from the novels I've read with the Kindle app, 
so see if you can test some out. Failing that, Voice Dream Reader is an 
excellent book-reading app that supports Bokshare and other non-encrypted epub, 
daisy, mp3, pdf, text, and html files. Bard Mobile will let you read Bard 
books, and even RFB (well, Learning Ally now) has an app for their content.

The Voice Memos app should be in the Utilities folder, maybe on the second 
page, if I recall correctly. Yes, there are other apps out there for this 
purpose. In fact, there was a discussion a week or two ago about this sort of 
app, so you might want to have a look in this list's recent archives. I don't 
record, so I'll be of little use here, but the discussion was extensive and 
should give you some ideas of apps to look at.
