Hi Scot. I use the spell checker in nisus writer pro really much. You can use the shift+option + . and use it the normal way. I prefer to use command+shift+comma and when you have different options you can learn by using command+option+l and ignor using command+option+i you can also see a list of suggested words by pressing vo+shift+m. Sometimes you need to turn off voiceOver and turn it on again. I have not been able to figure out why, and it happens seldom.
Note that it can be usefull to use nisus in draft mode when spell checking. If you do not understand my explanation, please go back.
