Odd, I had never heard this before. I thought you could run Linux on any
kind of vmware. Just checked and vmware even provides documentation on
how to do it:

I haven't tried it but it doesn't seem to imply needing the pro version.

I also got the server error the first two times I tried to buy vmware fusion.
My brother helped me to buy it from windows that worked, but I think it was a

important things, I tried buying Fusion 7 Pro. It didn't matter what I did,
selecting Pay Pal or my Debit Visa card there was an error at the end of the
buying process which VM knew about as it said if we had problems with any
paying method there was an E-mail given which we had to write to. Has anyone
encountered problems buying VMFusion? I don't know when this will be fixed. I
used Digital River as I am in the UK.
