I take your point but last year Maverix didn't come out until October.
Same should be true for Yosemite this year. Apple are very very
consistent in these releases and have been for a good few years now.
Regarding continuity and handoff it is not restricted to Macs running
Yosemite; devices running iOS 8 can also take advantage. So you can
start a task on your iPhone then continue on your other iPhone, iPod
Touch or iPad.
