Go to MobileMe in System Preferences. Click "Account" tab. Click "Account Settings" button -- you may need to enter your password after this -- then "Account Details" and then "Account Options." There, at the bottom of that page, you'll be able to cancel your account. I just went through these steps -- except for actually canceling, which I don't want to do -- so I can't say for certain that the final step would work, but there were no difficulties up to that point.
