Press CMD-Shift-A to open the Applications folder. then press U to go to Utilities, and open that. There you'll find an app called Disk Utility, launch it. In the app, you'll see an option that says repair disk emissions. Press Enter, and you're golden. It did solve my lag problem, too, so definitely worth giving it a try. Good luck!
