Yes! Try signing into FaceTime on your iPad, then try dialing a number from your contacts. It should work, as it did on my Macbook Pro. Note that also, you DO need both devices on the same Wifi network. So, with the phone settings I mentioned earlier, which it seems you have set, then FaceTime signed into, it should work.
