Hi All,
Just incase you may not like the default sound that skkype uses for its
event’s like incoming call you can change it with the following method you will
have to have a sound with an M 4 A extension which can be from you ringtones by
making a copy of it and changeing the exxtension by pressing edit and changing
the extension from m 4 R to M 34 A .
Changing the default ringing tone in Skype for the mac
1: go to the Skype preferences with command comma
2: once preferences is open go to the notifications press VO space bar to
select. stop interacting with the tool bar VO right arrow to details and event
there is an event called incoming call , VO right arrow incoming call which is
just after play sound VO space bar to bring up the sound selection menu .
3: Go to the bottom of that list and there is an add slash remove button V O
space bar to select a new window comes up if you have not added any new sounds
the table will be empty .
4: VO right arrow to the add button then navigate to the sidebar interact with
VO shift down arrow navigate to the music or wherever you store any music or
sounds with an m4a extension select the one you want then stop interacting and
VO right arrow to the open button .then VO right arrow to the done button.
5: Now you will have a sound to choose from instead of the normal default one,
you can do this for any of the events .
6: Just to finish if you have any ringtones with an m 4 r extension just copy
it to a different folder and press edit on it and change the extension from M 4
R to M4 A.
