USB keyboards work fine both ways. The main snags I run into are the 
option and command keys getting flipped when using a windows keyboard on 
a mac or the windows/alt flipped when using a mac keyboard on windows. 
There is also the mental gymnastics of remembering to use control on one 
and command on the other for cut/copy/paste etc.
