The only other app that might work is good player. Last I checked it was 3 bucks.

Nop, Not really. I’m really asking if there is a workaround such as installing a compatible player, upgrading to ios 8 to get shared video codeks, or plans to put more video support directly into the mycloud app. Thanks anyway though, :) Best, Erik Burggraaf On Nov 29, 2014, at 12:31 PM, [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> wrote: The videos have to be in MP4 format in order for them to play on your phone. For the pictures, there is a WD pictures app. Should be in the app store. HTH. Hi all, I’m doing a bit of digging around because I’ve found a pretty serious detraction for the mycloud and I need to know if it’s resolvable. I spent the last few days loading all my girlfriend’s pictures and videos onto her mycloud and they all work just fine on our macbooks and my droid. Then she tried to watch some old home videos and tv eps on her ipad and it doesn’t work. Some of the vids play just fine, I’m thinking they were shot using an IPad. Other popular movie formats such as avi and mov do not play. I installed a vlc like video player which can play all popular formats, but no joy. Then I tried to share a movie out from WD Mycloud, and discovered that it only has one option in the share settings, and that is link by email. So, is it just me, or is this really super useless? she’s pretty irritated honestly. I can sit here with my droid and stream any file I want off the cloud while her big expensive ipad just sits there apparently not doing anything. I’d appreciate any advice.
