Sorry to be so dim..
The express is set for dhp and nat.  The ip addresses for the extreme and 
express don’t match, so should I edit the ip addy of the express to match the 
extreme?  I didn’t want to fiddle with this til I know for sure what to mess 
with!  The extreme is something like 192.168.2.1 and the express is 10.10.1.1..
