Hello Jessica, et al: Without getting into the specifics, which would take a novella to fully explain, in my opinion, I strongly, strongly urge you not to hide the gMail All Mail folder. Doing so may, and most likely will, cause Yosemite Mail problems.
Having the All Mail folder being displayed causes absolutely no loss of space, as it were.
