Hello Sarai, In a Pages template, you often have to press Return followed by Cmd-z for placeholder text to function correctly in that each section should become highlighted when you navigate using just the arrow keys.
As for seeing the spacing etc, you can use the service “New TextEdit window containing selection” for which you can create a shortcut in System Preferences. This service wil copy the highlighted text into a TextEdit document where you can examine it closely.
