It’s very possible, and I set up all my tables to read out column/row titles. Here’s how it’s done.
for column titles, insert a header row into the table if one is not already there. Now, place your column titles in that header row and VO will read out the column title as you arrow across data rows in the table. You can have up to 5 header rows in a table, and VO will use the data in the last header row as column titles. The same procedure applies to row titles. insert a header column, again, you can have 5 header columns and the data in the last column serves as row titles. When I say last header row, I mean the highest numbered header row. e.g. row 5 in a table with 5 header rows. Likewise, the last header column would be column E in a table with 5 header columns. in the table menu, there are submenus for header rows/columns, as well as footer rows. You can check the number of each type of header there if you’re not sure, or if your table is acting a little funny. headers don’t get processed the same as the regular data rows/columns and I often put formulas in the headers that summarize the data rows/columns. hope that helps a little, headers and footers can be a little confusing at first, but experiment a bit and you’ll see how they work. > On Dec 17, 2014, at 5:49 PM, Daniel Chavez <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi list, > In Microsoft Excel and jaws For Windows, you could set JFW to read row and > column titles, so that when you put headings, going from left to right, when > you would tab, it’d say things like: > travel in A1, gas expense in B2, etc. > When you were in a blank cell, like B3, it’d say travel, as it was the > heading in A2. > What I am asking is, is this setup possible with voiceover?
