I don't know for sure about this. I do know that even though I bought the full abby finereader I don't really like it, admittedly because I haven't yet taken time to learn all its ins and outs and so I am actually still using vuescan and abbyy finereader express most of the time. I'm not recommending that others do this and I'm sure the full-fledged version is beter and allows you to scan even with my scanner within the application but I just haven't found the time and patience to work with the full version yet; to me it is far from intuitive. But I am sure those who have come to use the full version regularly would wholeheartedly disagree.
