It is some what worse for me. I went to www.bbc.co.uk and then followed the News link. I was unable to read any of the news content on the page using Voiceover keys though I could navigate to the first news heading.
By turning Voiceover off and using Chrome Vox I was able to read the news content on the page but in my case Voiceover seemed incapable of detecting and reading the actual text apart from header or link or list elements on the page.
