Hi, Your second method works better in TextEdit documents. Make sure that you’ve interacted with the text area first then use shift to select. Special selection commands are:
Option-shift-right arrow selects the next word. Option-shift-left arrow selects previous word. Shift-down arrow sects from current cursor position to same position on next line. Shift-up arrow selects from cursor position to same position on previous line. Option-shift-down arrow selects from current cursor position to the end of the current line. Option-shift-up arrow selects from current cursor position to the beginning of the current line. cmd-shift-down arrow selects from current cursor position to the end of the document. cmd-shift-up arrow selects from current cursor position to the beginning of the document.
