They obviously don't understand screen readers. Is this an app or a web page? I am not sure about event handlers for touch, but if they had used a standard button you would not have problems. make sure they know that you are using the app and let him have an introduction to voiceover. Does applevis have resources for advocating for voiceover to app developers?
