Which text editors are most accessible under OS X for editing text files? I'm
interested in features such as automatic indentation of various file formats
(HTML, JavaScript source code, C++, LaTeX, etc.). Both braille and speech
output are desirable. Integration with revision control systems, especially
Git, would be helpful.

I'm currently running GNU Emacs in a terminal (as I do under Linux). The
braille output, in particular, is not good - there are spurious tab characters
(displayed as ctrl-i, that is, "i" with dots 7 and 8 added) that appear in the
text as one is typing. These tab characters do not appear to be entered into
the Emacs buffer however.

I'm running Yosemite. I've also read the recent, favourable comments about
XCode with VoiceOver and plan to consider it as one of my options in the OS X
environment.
