Yes, you can, in notifications, but I would highly advise you not to do that, 
and it doesn’t read every tweet if your timeline gets busy. You are best to 
just go to your home timeline and press 0 for the newest tweet, space for the 
oldest unread etc. All notifications options can be controlled from the 
Notifications and Accounts/Notifications sections of Yoru prefs, and just make 
sure that your timeline options are checked if you really are sure!
