Hi, The cells on the brailledge are very round. The ones on the apex or brailliant displays are sharper, but not nearly as sharp as the ones on the alva bc6 series.
The backdrop of the hims cells is the roughest I've touched, but despite that, the roundness of the dots makes it one of the most comfortable for me. If I could get a new display, the brailleedge would be a very tempting upgrade. I think I might still prefer the vareo ultra because of the multi-device support, but the brailleedge is nice. What you like in a braille display is completely subjectinve. What feels right to me may not feel right to you. If you can get some displays to hold before you buy, that would be your best bet.
