Hi Anouk, by default, iTunes remembers your place in M4B files because they are typically used for spoken word material, so it makes sense for it to do so. You can also make iTunes remember your place in any file by setting this option in the info tab. It's good for audiobooks that are in MP3 or M4A format. In all cases where iTunes remembers your place, the place is synchronised when you sync iTunes with a mobile device, so you can listen to something for a bit on your computer, sync with your iPhone and pick up where you left off.
