Actually, Pam, it does make sense. I've boobooed and done this before
myself. It happens to the best of us. And BTW, stop feeling like quote
unquote an idiot! As I said, this isn't a big deal. I bet I know what
happened, and if I am correct, this is extremely easy to fix.
What I bet probably happened is, you probably accidentally removed the app
from your applications directory. In doing this however, you didn't remove
the icon from your dock. So, when you hit vo+D, probably what's happenning
is, it's trying to open the Skype.app file from your applications directory,
but because it's no longer there, nothing is happenning. So, therefore, to
fix this issue, what you'll want to do is to download Skype again, copy the
skype.app file from the download dmg, paste it into your applications
directory like normal, go to your dock, find the Skype icon, vo+shift+M on
it, select options, then remove from dock. Now, finally, go back over to
your applications directory, find skype.app, then hit ctrl+command+shift+T
to add it again back to your dock.
Now, you'll have a fresh icon that properly references the skype.app file.
Now, if you go to your dock, and hit vo+space, or return on Skype, it should
launch with no issues at all.
Chris.

Hi folks,
Thank you so much. I feel like such an idiot.
My one question would be why would the icon remain on my dock if it would
not access the file? That makes no sense. If someone could please explain
that I would appreciate it.

It never was in the Mac App Store. You download it from Skype's website
located here
www.skype.com
you will then download it as either a disk image (DMG), a single app file
or even a compressed (zip) archive. Let us know if you need further help.

Hello folks,
I have an interesting dilemma.
Was attempting to access my skype program from my doc as I had placed it
there when I installed it.
As it wouldn't open, I was curious as to why. Looked in my applications
folder, not there.
I went to the Mac App Store, could not find my Skype program there
either. Has it been taken out of the Mac App Store? If not, can someone
please send me a link. Would greatly appreciate it.
