Hi, This is the process I used and it seems to work fine.
• Press cmd-space to bring up spotlight. • Enter the thing I wish to search for, but don’t press return. • VO-right to the table. • Interact with it, then navigate to the very bottom. It should read something about “Show All in Finder”. • Now press return. Spotlight will open a new window and list all the files that match the query. What appears to be happening is that Spotlight is guessing the best match for your query and it isn’t the best match in your estimation. So, if you choose the “Show All in Finder” option, you should get what you’ve been used to. You’ll note that there are numerous other choices that Spotlight has come up with for you including the web, Mail Messages etc. These can narrow your search quicker if it’s not a specific file/folder you’re looking for. HTH. Later... Tim Kilburn Fort McMurray, AB Canada On Apr 14, 2015, at 11:23, Christine Grassman <[email protected]> wrote: Since upgrading to Yosemite, nothing seems to be working. Even a simple search for something I know is on my computer in documents is not coming up. I keep getting a “system dialog” box; my preferences are in order, but every search renders one possibility only. There is no list. Should I be interacting differently with Spotlight with Yosemite? It used to be so simple!! TIA. Christine -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
