I just rebooted my mbp mid 2012 with os 10.10 on it, and i've noticed a volume called efi on the desktop. I've noticed this before, and it's gone away, but it keeps coming back. granted, not everytime i restart, but enough to concern me. What's it for, isn't that firmware, and why does it keep coming back? surely they're not updating the mbp's firmware that much, especially that i've got such an old machine? does it happen if there's a failure in startup or something? Thanks for any help you can provide in this.
