Hi list, I don't think this has been answered so I apologize if it has. I do not know if this will work, as I have not had chance to try this yet, but here is one possible solution to fixing the invalid certificate issue in Mail:
The error, "Invalid certificate while getting Email," indicates you do not have Master CA in OSX keychain. Download Master CA from CSAIL CA. Open the downloaded file, and when asked where to place the certificate select X509Anchors? (if available; "System" if not). There is more info on the below page, although it does not say what information to enter, but I suspect that this is the info specific to whichever Mail server you are using i.e. GMail.
