Hi list, i've found this link, which gives some thorough info about open firmware, which is the boot seeker for all macs.
http://mac.linux.be/content/guide-open-firmware-apple-bios There are a bunch of commands, pertaining to the solaris environment for booting the mac from different drive aliases, and adding preconfigurations for the bios to recognize the mac model. I am reading through it to find the specifier for model identifier of the mac, it's clock speed and other relevant information for an ipod boot of SL server install to be possible. Can't help but try it, notwithstanding all the polemics about hacking a mac Best Yuma Decaux Light has no value without darkness Skype: shainobi1 twitter: www.twitter.com/triple7 Tel: +85513623378 Yuma Antoine Decaux [email protected] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
