Hi George, So, I don't really understand this all that well, but here goes.
FB, for whatever reason, assigns you a username, that is separate from the one you use to sign in. If it's like mine, it will be a name followed by a number, something like this: John.Smith.23. That is apparently the one that Messenger needs. tim Said you can view this on your FB login page, but I was not able to do that. So I logged in to Facebook, clicked on Profile, then navigated over to the address bar. The username you need will be part of that URL. You then put that, in the username field. So using my example, it would look like [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>. The password is the same one you use to log in to FB Also, don't forget that before you do any of this, you have to add Facebook as an account in System Prefs under Internet accounts.
