What I really don’t like, and these are the only things so far, is that I cannot get to my songs, only artists in my library; the shuffle button is not showing; and as you point out, unless I spend the time creating a playlist, I have to skip through every single thing in my library, or search for it, rather than simply the items I want on my iPhone at any particular time. Unless, of course, I am doing something wrong or missing something.
