Hi,

I’ve looked at the top of the screen on my IPhone after IBooks loads, and there
is not a thing mentioned about preferences or page layout. I also looked under
the settings for the app and don’t find anything that sounds like what you’re
describing. Are these settings only in the app on the Mac Book? I did just
change it from grid to list so I’ll keep looking around and see if any of my
changes make a difference.

Thanks. I’ve tried swiping up/down & left/right and nothing there either as
well as looking at the roter options.

Open iBooks

Go to prefferences in the menu at the top of the screen under iBooks

In there choose to show pages in a single page format, not in 2 pages side by
side

Hi Anne,

Sorry, one more question ...

I got the book and started going through it in IBooks. I’m not totally
sufficient using IBooks. Anyway, the book starts reading and at the end of
page 3 stops, when I swipe to move on to the next page, rather than going to
page 4 as I was expecting, it jumps to page 5. So my silly question is ... How
do I get IBooks to read either straight through, including even numbered pages,
or when I swipe to not skip the even number pages?

Oh, yes, I am reading it on my IPhone 6, so I can learn Pages on my Mac Book
Pro.

Thanks again this is a great resource and I appreciate your sharing it.

Hello Rena,

In iTunes, do VO-Space on the iTunes Store radio button then press Cmd-Option-f
to go to the search field.

Type in the name of the book and press return. You’ll keep hearing a bubbling
sound as you type, but it’s just iTunes making suggestions.

When the page has loaded, press VO-Cmd-h to get to the first heading then
navigate right until you find the book.

Cheers,

Anne

Would you please explain how to get an iBook? Do I go to store? Once there,
what should I do? Also, how can I read an iBook? Can I read it in the mac?

  Thank you,

  Rena

  Hello Eileen,

You can get a free iBook that will help you with most aspects of the Mac. The
book is called:

Mastering the Macintosh with VoiceOver, and is written by Tim Sniffen.

He approaches the Mac from the point of view of someone who is used to the
gestures on an iPhone, but he does include keyboard commands as well.

  Cheers,

  Anne

    Hi All,

Are there any tutorials, on-line, for VO users with either Pages or
Numbers? I’d like to learn how to use them, but especially Pages.

    Thanks.

    Eileen
