Do you know if the quality of ripped cd’s alac apple lossles audio codec is downgraded to 256kbs aac ? I have read this somewhere, but not confirmed by apple. If there is a way to not upload ripped cd’s alac quality and still use it on mac within apple music playlists on that mac within the same playlist that has aac songs matched. i.e. mixed ripped with streamed and matched in the same playlist - alac and aac, but only the aac 256kbs is sendt to the other IOS devices.
