  Unless each of the menu items you are interested have their own shortcut key, 
but that's not usually the case. For often accessed menu functions with no 
shortcut you can play with the Keyboard and Mouse preference to add menu 
shortcut keys to a particular application. It gets a bit difficult because 
you'll often find all the best keys are already taken, which might be why a 
more minor function didn't get a shortcut. Then again, a minor function to them 
might be really important to you so it would make sense to steal a key 
combination away from elsewhere in the app. I believe user-defined shortcuts 
trump application defined ones.
