Yes, reverse it. For extra points, defragment and zero the Windows partition, and use bzip2 to compress the output of dd. That makes an even smaller file.
It’s a shame that all this can’t be easily automated, although to be fair Apple has taken great care of Apple’s own side of the fence. And when you come right down to it, OS X (and Unix, generally) file systems are easier to duplicate than Windows. Bloody MickeySoft. Your partition tables, including errors, would also be duplicated.
