These look like the same directions I posted to the list earlier in the year 
(https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/macvisionaries/EO_nu0uIy70). I’d agree 
this is the best method we have for now but you should be aware that this will 
disable your caps lock key in all OS X apps. I believe using Seil and 
Karabiner, there should be a way to write an XML script which would remap caps 
lock only in the VMWare app, and otherwise allow the key to work normally. If 
someone is interested in exploring this to see how well it works, I’d be 
interested to hear the results. I’ve been meaning to get around to this one day.
