Yes, Shawn, it does make sense actually.

Subject: A Dictionary Suggestion That Could Benefit Both Mac and iOS Devices
Hi all. I'm almost about to go to bed, but I had a suggestion that I wanted
to share before I signed off for the night. It's a dictionary suggestion
that could benefit the Mac and if they implement a dictionary in iOS it
could be beneficial there too. So anyway, getting to the suggestion. I have
a bunch of voices from three third party developers plus the voices that
Apple provide here on my Mac. I notice that some of them may pronounce a
word properly and some of them don't. An Example of this is the name of the
current OS for Mac, El Capitan. I know that Alex says the word properly, but
the third party voices from Nuance and that don't. I know I could go into
the Voiceover utility and type in the proper pronunciation, but why should I
do this to all the voices? Alex says it fine so why should this change also
apply to a voice that says the word properly? That's why I think Apple
should implement an option in the OS X Voiceover dictionary, and later in
iOS if they make a dictionary for it, that a pronunciation of a word be tied
to a specific voice. Now if you use the popular Windows screenreader NVDA,
you'll know what I'm talking about. There's a submenu in their dictionary
menu where you can select if the pronunciation will be global or for a
specific voice. This is useful if you're like me that use multiple Sapi
voices or voices that they provide that are high in quality. If a setting
like this were made for the Mac, if you use Alex and other voices, you could
set this up for those voices and leave Alex alone. I hope this all makes
sense and good night to you all.
Shawn
