Hello Shawn, I certainly do not wish to contradict E. T. as he may have access to more recently updated information than I.
However, as far as I know, Windows 7 will be supported until the year 2020. To date, there is no mandatory update to Windows 10. In fact, I am writing this reply on a Windows 7 PC which, being an Enterprise version, does not even display the Windows 10 notification badge. I am also running a Windows 8.1 home Premium computer which, while displaying the option to upgrade to Windows 10, in no way warns that the option to do this will be taken away. Without going into greater detail, for those using a Home version of Windows 10, the ability to opt out of important updates and, in some cases, new feature ad-ons, no longer exists. Again, this is merely my understanding and I am certainly no authority on Microsoft so I welcome any corrections to my comments.
