Hi Daniela,
Whilst Office 2016 for the Mac works well with VoiceOver I wouldn't say
it's at the same level as the PC product.
Outlook is okay. However for complex stuff there still some bugs to
contend with.
Maybe learning Pages might be a better bet?
I do know that Anne who is on this list does offer training on the topic.
The student could always export Pages documents to MS word.
Just a few ideas.
