I’m currently using Facebook in the default Messages App so this should definitely still be possible. You need to do the following to add the account:
1. Open the messages app and enter its preferences (COMMAND COMMA) and choose the accounts tab. 2. Choose the add account button. 3. Choose the “other messages account” radio button then hit continue. 4. A new window will open. In the account type popup menu, choose Jabber. 5. Enter your Facebook username and password. You need to add @chat.facebook.com as a suffix to your username. For example, if your username is hello, then you would enter [email protected]. If you don’t know what your Facebook username is, visit www.facebook.com/username. Note: If you have Facebook set up to require a code in addition to your password when you sign in, you need to visit your Facebook security settings and generate an “app password”. You would then use this app password rather than your Facebook password when adding the account as described above. These instructions were written quickly so I know they’re pretty brief.
