If you're thinking about a large room and your budget will allow it you
might try going with some pro gear like the mipro ma-505. It's a speaker
with a built in amp and all the usual goodies but it starts at about
$1K. It has a 145watt amp, bluetooth receiver, USB or SD card audio
recording, various connections and will run on a battery for about
4hours. I'm checking into those for my kids school as the PTA is wanting
to get something better for large gatherings.

Hi all!
I wonder if somebody can make a recommendation for good speakers for iPhone. I
need some volume and size does not matter. I need them to be powerful enough
to play for a pretty good sized room so am not looking for wireless or blue
tooth necessarily. I don't even know where to start looking there is so much
out there. I guess they'd need to have a built-in amplifier? Not sure if the
iPhone would be powerful enough.
Excuse my lack of knowledge but this is a new thing for me.
Thanks,
Jim
