Jeff, Thank you. I don’t know why but the dialog did not pop up after I selected the router’s name. Even after restarting the computer it took quite some time and finally, finally the dialog you describe came up.
For future reference, It is also under system preferences, under network, but at first I was not even finding the necessary password field there for quite some time. I don’t know why this computer is so slow to recognize a connection like this. All seems to be working fine now, so thanks again. Hi Eileen, Go to the extras menu, hit enter on your router's name. A dialog will pop up, the first item will be the password, followed by a check box to remember the network, then join and cancel. Just type your password, tab and check the box to remember the network, and tab again and hit enter on join. Hope this helps!
