You absolutely are.  The improvement in cell performance from the 6 to 6s /+ is 
quite significant.  The main improvement is the inclusion of many more 
frequency bands so the phone can join on to more networks and use more 
facilities on these networks.   For example, T-Mobile network on the 6s+ is 
accessible on band 1, 2, 4, 12 and several others.  The key here is band 12.   
This is a lower frequency band that penetrates buildings better and traverses 
longer distances.  There’s less bandwidth unless you bond channels (Which T-Mo 
does) but it’s more robust than the higher frequency all be it faster signals.  
AT&T is similar.  They have added new spectrum and turned up more of this 
spectrum so the latest phone takes advantage of this and is likely joining new 
towers you didn’t have access to or using a range that is more suited to your 
geographic and signal propagation conditions.
        On top of this the sensitivity is greater, LTE features more plentiful 
and in general Qualcomm did a great job on the radio in the 6S.
