No. You need to be able to send unmodified ASCII text to the device. OS X uses Cups as its printer control software. There's a "raw" output option that might work. You'll need a braille translator (if you don't have one installed already). You might also be able to bypass the printer control software entirely. If the device appears to the system as a serial port, you could write to it, e.g., with the cat command.
