One can put up to 2 GB of music on the Apple Watch for use when the iPhone is not nearby (such as out running). Also, Apple Watch can pair with BlueTooth hadset for same situation. However, when with iPhone, iPhone is BlueTooth master for both Apple Watch and headset. In other words, both watch and headset are adjunct devices to iPhone.
