I agree.
And remember, we're talking two different things here. Hotspots are not the
same as webspots. I mean, they kind of are, in a sense, but not exactly.

Hi,
Hotspots work pretty consistently for me in 10.11. Yes, there has been times
where hotspots have been lost but, its been a rare thing for me. maybe 2 or
3 times that I can recall.

Just to add, hotspots don't work for me in El Capitan at all. I set them
and maybe I would use a hotspot once and then they stop working. I kept
reporting it to Apple during beta testing but they never fixed the
feature. I do miss them. It's quite frustrating.

John,
Thank you so much for your response. It is greatly appreciated.
It's good to know that I am not the only one having this problem. I mean…
Let me rephrase… It is good, but it is not good. If you know what I mean.
it's good in the sense that I know I'm not crazy. It is not good in the
sense that Apple really needs to either remove this feature altogether,
or they need to get it fixed. It seems like if I remember correctly, it
didn't work in Mountain lion, but that's been quite a while back. it
might have work in the lien. I don't honestly remember, in this feeble
brain of mine right now is too tired to analyze things.
sorry for the typos. I'm using Siri right now.
Anyway… Take care, and again, thank you for the help.
Chris.

El Capitan 10.11.2.
1. Open Safari, and hit command+L.
2. Navigate to
http://www.learningalley.org
3. VO+right arrow to the login link.
4. Press vo+Command+shift+right bracket right bracket to set the
sweetspot at that location.
4. Press command+L, then navigate to a different web site of your
choice.
5. Press command+L to navigate back to the learning Alley web site.
Again:
http://www.learningalley.org
6. Notice that Voiceover doesn't automatically focus you on the login
link, nor on any other link you might instead set up as the sweetspot.
Note: Apple Accessibility tried over the phone working with me on
this, and they reproduced the exact same behavior consistently, not
just on the Learning Alley web site, but on others as well.
Is this a bug? or is it that I'm not fully grasping the concept of
Sweetspots.
For further reading, refver to the Voiceover user's guide, chapter 6.
